SSP holds meet with retired police personnel

SAMBA, May 25: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Dr Koshal Sharma held a meeting with retired police personnel in District Police Lines here.
The aim of the meeting was to access the problems being faced by the retired police personnel and to take step for their redressal. About 150-160 retired police personnel of District Samba participated in the meeting.
In the meeting, Retd ASI Ajeet Singh, State President of Police Retirees Association and Retd SI Raghubir Singh, District President Samba highlighted some general issues like opening of Police-Pubic School in District Samba, 15 per cent job reservation in Police Department for wards of police personnel, construction of Police Hospital in District Samba, ambulance facilities in far flung area of District Samba, pay/pension anomaly of retired police personnel, financial assistance to retirees suffering from chronic diseases/life terminal diseases, welfare/relief fund to legal heirs to perform last rites, etc.
SSP gave a patient hearing to all the genuine demands put forth by the retired police personnel and assured them that their demands will be taken up at appropriate level for redressal at the earliest.
In the end, vote of thanks was given by Vipan Chandran, DySP DAR, Samba.
Deepak Digra, DySP Headquarters Samba and Baljit Singh, SDPO Vijaypur were also present in the meeting.
