SSP CID holds meet with hoteliers, discusses issues

JAMMU, May 14: SSP CID Arun Gupta along with his team held a meeting with All Jammu Hotel and lodges Association’s office bearers and discussed various issues pertaining to foreign guests staying in the hotels and lodges, here today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Inderjeet Khajuria wherein all the office bearers including president of the Association, Pawan Gupta, DySPs Sachit Mahajan, Subash Chander, Dinesh Sharma, Sub Inspector, Balbir Singh participated at Hotel India Pride Jammu.
The SSP explained in detail about the ‘Foreigners Registration Act’ while permitting foreign guests in their hotels and lodges and advised them to communicate immediately all the information pertaining to foreign guests both online as well as offline by filling a relevant form. “Any violation of the ‘Foreigners Registration Act’ in part or full by the hoteliers shall be liable for punishment of imprisonment and heavy fine,” SSP said.
The Association also apprised the SSP about the problems being faced by them while submitting information of foreigners online such as short duration of session which needs to be elongated.
The SSP assured the Association for any kind of help from his end for resolving the problem and said that his team is ready to provide any sort of training to hotel staff, so that the issue should be resolved amicably.
Pawan Gupta explained the situation of hotel business in Jammu which is on ventilator due to extension of train from Jammu to Katra and non completion of Jammu based major projects including Artificial Lake, Mubarak Mandi Complex, Zumbo Zoo at Nagrota and others.
ML Sharma, Krishan Lal Sharma, Pritam Sharma, HS Manhas, Baldev Raj, Swarn Singh, Varun Gupta and RC Sharma were present during the meeting.
