Jammu, Apr 27: A senior police official reviewed the operational preparedness of security forces, directing them to maintain surveillance on anti-national elements and overground workers to prevent any disturbance to peace in the Reasi district.
According to an official statement, during his visit to the mountainous belt of the district on Sunday, Reasi Senior Superintendent of Police Mukund Tibrewal, inspected police posts, police units and minority pickets in Thanole, Narkote, Ladha, Panassa and Chakalhawala in Arnas sub-division.
Reviewing deployment patterns and operational strategies at Narkote, the SSP directed personnel to maintain a structured roster for long-range patrols to enhance vigilance in the area.
He also stressed the use of technology-driven policing and better coordination with local communities and Village Defence Guards, particularly in remote and hilly areas.
At Ladha and Chakalhawala pickets, he reviewed area domination exercises and assessed coordination with VDGs in nearby villages to strengthen the local security grid, the statement said.
During inspection of Thanole Police Post, the SSP reviewed the malkhana, record room and other operational units.
He directed officers to analyse past militancy-related incidents and maintain surveillance on anti-national elements and overground workers (OGWs) to prevent any disturbance to peace, the statement said.
The police said the visit reflects their commitment to maintaining strong security arrangements and ensuring the safety of residents, pilgrims and tourists in the district.
