SSP Bhat suspended

JAMMU, June 21: The Home Department today ordered suspension of Jammu and Kashmir Police Services (JKPS) officer Ramesh Kumar Bhat with immediate effect.
While the Home Department order issued by Principal Secretary Home Shaleen Kabra didn’t give any reasons for suspension of 1999 batch JKPS officer, reliable sources said an FIR has been registered against him in an impersonation case at Trikuta Nagar Police Station.
Bhat had in October last year rang up a woman KAS officer by impersonating as an officer of Anti-Corruption Bureau. He had asked the female officer to meet him at a particular place.
Bhat, who was already attached in the Home Department, will continue to remain attached there, the order said.
Bhat has been suspended in terms of Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules 1956.
