SSP Anantnag holds stakeholders’ meet on tourist safety at Pahalgam

ANANTNAG, Jan 20: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anantnag, Amritpal Singh, today chaired a comprehensive stakeholders’ meeting at Pahalgam Club, attended by representatives from the tourism sector including hoteliers, tourist taxi stand operators, pony owners and other allied stakeholders.
Addressing the participants, the SSP Anantnag stressed the collective responsibility of all concerned in ensuring the safety, security and well-being of tourists visiting the area.
During the meeting, stakeholders were briefed on adhering to their respective roles with special focus on maintaining a secure and tourist-friendly environment.
They were directed to install CCTV cameras in and around hotels and establishments to strengthen surveillance and to ensure proper fire-safety arrangements in line with prescribed norms to prevent any untoward incidents.
The SSP Anantnag underlined the importance of close coordination between the police and tourism stakeholders to sustain Pahalgam as a safe and welcoming destination, while participants assured full cooperation.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session in which stakeholders shared suggestions and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening tourist safety and security in the region.
