SSB concludes exams for 1500 posts meant for Kashmiri migrants

JAMMU, Apr 15: J&K Services Selection Board today concluded the exams for 1500 posts meant for Kashmiri migrants under the Prime Minister’s Package.
These posts were advertised by JKSSB in December 2017 and the exams were held over a week starting from April 8 in the two capital cities of Jammu and Srinagar. A total of 25,000 candidates had applied for the these posts which are distributed among 16 departments and include posts like Motor Vehicle Inspector, Junior Engineers, Village Level Workers, Legal Assistants, Statistical Assistants and others. The exams were conducted in CBT mode.
The exam on 11th April had to be rescheduled due to Jammu bandh and was conducted on 15th April. The exam on 12th April was postponed due to volatile situation in Kashmir valley, for which no fresh dates are yet finalized, said a spokesman of the Board.
The answer keys for the exam will be activated for viewing for the candidates from 18th April, 2018, onwards. The candidates will be allowed to give representations against the disputed questions for two days after which the revised answer key will be published.
It is worthwhile to mention here that the Government had waived of viva for all these posts in order to pace up the recruitment process. Besides, the exams for the posts of Junior Assistants in Education Department were also conducted successfully on 13th and 14th April.
The Board is now going to conduct written exams for the posts of Science Teacher, Urdu Teacher and Naib-Tehsildar during the current month. About two lakh candidates have already appeared in various exams conducted by JKSSB in 2018.
