JAMMU, Oct 14: A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan from Poonch District died of gunshot wounds in West Bengal, officials said.
ASI Zabir Ahmad (51) son of late Mohammad Faiz of Kalaban, District Poonch, who was posted with SSB’s 17th Battalion at Falakote area of West Bengal, died of gun-shot injury while performing his duty on October 13, they said.
His body arrived at Government Medical College Jammu today, where it was shifted to the mortuary for conducting the post-mortem examination and other legal formalities, officials said.
After completion of the formalities, the body would be handed over to its legal heirs, they said.
