SS submits memo to Governor, demands better facilities for Amarnath pilgrims

JAMMU, Apr 15: Shiv Sena (Bala Sahib Thackeray) today submitted a memorandum to Governor NN Vohra and raised some burning issues of Amarnath pilgrims.
While giving the details of the memorandum, State President of Shiv Sena Dimpy Kohli along with Sandeep Bhagat, Raj Singh and Rajan Gupta said that although Shri Amarnath Shrine Board is doing commendable job for giving better facilities to Amarnath Yatries during the Yatra yet there are many issues which are untouched and need immediate attention.
He said the main demands which his party has put forth before the Governor is to open current yatra booking counter at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar.
He added that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board must arrange beddings for the pilgrims at Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, cancel 12 percent tax for the yatries travelling to holy cave via Helicopter, cancel toll taxes on vehicles entering via Lakhanpur border, to provide security cover of the tune of Rs 20 lakhs per yatri and SASB also make arrangements for shifting dead bodies of the deceased people who leave for heavenly abode during the yatra due to certain reasons to their respective places free of cost.
He stated that their party which is the true representative of Hindus must be given due representation in SASB.
Dimpy Kohli hoped that Governor will consider all their demands as soon as possible.
