JAMMU, Sept 14: The J&K State Road Transport Corporation Workers Union has claimed that most of the SRTC fleet of buses and even the trucks are engaged in relief and rescue operation and all the senior officials including their Managing Director were supervising the operation.
In a meeting of the Union held here today, general secretary Paramjit Singh said that the senior and junior staff members under directions of their MD J S Tandon were involved in the rescue and relief operation. Even the buses were deployed for carrying trapped people from various locations including airports and tranship between Ramsoo and Jammu, Udhampur and on that side of Valley. The fleet is also operating between Jammu-Batote-Kishtwar and Sinthon Top and Anantnag. He said Mr Tandon attended meeting at Governor House on September 11 and even helped to rescue his staff from TRC and various areas of Valley. He alleged that news carried in a section of Press seemed to be a false propaganda against him.
