Chairman of the Union Wajahat Hussain and president, Paramjeet Singh said that in violation of SRO- 157, the Food & Supplies Department has taken decision against the interests of the SRTC.  They  said the SRTC would launch indefinite strike  and in the first instance the truck fleet of the  SRTC would observe two day’s complete strike on April 4-5.
Three days ultimatum has been given to the authorities to withdraw  this order failing which the SRTC Union  would launch indefinite strike. The bus fleet, operational  and workshop staff would also join the agitation, they maintained.
They alleged that this decision has been taken by the higher authorities in the FCS&CA department just to given undue benefit to their favourite private transporters, causing loss to the Govt owned SRTC.   They also alleged that top officers in the SRTC were sleeping over the matter. They sought the intervention of Chief Minister and chief Secretary into the matter.
