JAMMU, Sept 28: Shri Ram Sena (SRS) has expressed concern over the unavailability of Driving Licenses (DLs) with Motor Vehicle (MV) Department in Jammu.
In a handout Rajiv Mahajan, Shri Ram Sena J&K president said there is non-availability of smart cards and coloured films required for printing permanent driving licenses and over 10,000 individuals are suffering due to this official negligence for over six months.
He stated that it is disturbing that when a department designated for licensing cannot procure necessary smart cards and colored films in a timely manner and there seems to be lack of accountability.
“This has left the public to fend for themselves especially when individuals are stopped by traffic police who demand hard copies of DLs and impose fine on the spot for non-compliance,” Mahajan maintained adding that the relentless efforts of the administration to provide efficient online services within stipulated timeframes are being thwarted by the negligence of Transport Department.
He appealed to LG Manoj Sinha to intervene.
