JAMMU, Apr 10: Stressing upon the need for immediate amending SRO 64, president of National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri, today urged upon the State Chief Minister to formulate a comprehensive policy for regularization.
Interacting with media persons here, Shastri said that amendment in SRO 64 is the need of the hour as nearly about sixty one thousand Daily Rated Workers working in the various departments would be benefited and an early amendment in this SRO would pave way for new regularization policy.
Shastri also demanded early release of all pending wages of Daily Rated Workers working in PWD, Irrigation and Flood Control Department, PDD, PHE and various departments of the State Government before May Day so that working class could get sigh of relief. Most of the casual labourers had not been getting their wages on regular basis for many years and their working condition was dismal, he added.
Shastri said that creation of separate wage head in each department of the State Government will be the permanent solution for disbursement of wages regularly and effectively.
He also appealed to release pending installment of 6% DA due from January last in favour of State Government employees and pensioners. He further demanded monthly emoluments of Daily Wagers should be raised to Rs 10,000 per month.
