JAMMU, Jan 23: A four-member high level delegation of Sri Ranbireshwar Mandir Welfare Committee (SRMWC) under the leadership of committee president, Onkar Sharma today met president, Jammu and Kashmir Dharamarth Trust (JKDT), RS Jamwal and discussed the programmes and the arrangements of Maha Shivratri falling on February 17.
During the meeting it was decided that all the programmes of Maha Shivratri in the premises of Shri Ranbireshwar temple will commence on February 16 under the banner of JKDT.
It was also decided that on February 16 a grand Shobha Yatra of Lord Shiva will be organized by JKDT along with other cultural and social organizations as well as SRMWC.
A Chariot of Lord Shiva of JKDT will be the main attraction of the Shobha Yatra. Pandits of JKDT will push that Chariot amid chanting of religious Vedic mantras. It was unanimously decided that Chariot of Lord Shiva of JKDT will lead this Shobha Yatra which will be followed by the tableaus of other organizations.
The Shobha Yatra will pass through all main bazaars of the old city viz City Chowk, Indira Chowk, Hari Market, Raghunath Bazar, Residency road, Rajinder Bazar, Old Hospital road, Purani Mandi, Link road, Jain Bazar, Chowk Chabutra, Pacca Danga and will finally culminate at Shri Ranbireshwar Temple.
The meeting also decided to organize some religious cultural programmes in the temple premises by SRMWC.
