JAMMU, Sept 7: In an effort to expand the COVID-19 testing capacity, SRL Diagnostics – one of India’s leading diagnostic chains, has launched COVID-19 test by RT-PCR technique in Jammu.
The COVID testing laboratory of the Lab is located at SAI Plaza basement, Channi Himmat Bye-Pass Road, Jammu Tawi. SRL has been accredited by National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) for COVID-19 RT-PCR testing in the region.
This is the 18th RT-PCR lab that has been set up by SRL for COVID-19 testing in the country. The laboratory was inaugurated by Farooq Khan, Advisor to Lt Governor of J&K in presence of Dr J P Singh, Chief Medical Officer Jammu, Dr Anurag Bansal, Director Lab Operations (North/East), Puneet Walia, Business Head, North, SRL Franchisee Javed Iqbal Sheikh, Omair Nisar Ganai, Lab Head Dr Ruchita Mahajan, Gourav Kumar RSM North, senior Advocate J&K High Court Sheikh Shakeel and Gaurav Gupta, secretary general Jammu Chamber of Commerce and Industries.
SRL RT-PCR Lab Jammu has a capacity of conducting 500 COVID RT-PCR tests per day with reporting time of 5-6 hours. SRL Lab, Jammu is the only Lab in J&K issuing reports with ‘QR Code’ which is a must for international travel. SRL is also conducting COVID 19 Spike Antibody tests in Jammu.
Sharing details about the expansion, Anand K, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SRL Diagnostics said, “We are at a crucial stage with the virus where the threat of the third COVID wave looms. Hence, to cater to the growing demand for RT-PCR tests, we launched RT-PCR facility in Jammu with which we will be able to serve more residents of Jammu & Kashmir in these unprecedented times.”
