Srinagar records coldest day as mercury dips to 3.2 degree

SRINAGAR: Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir recorded coldest day of the winter so far after the maximum temperature dipped and settled at 3.2 degree, five notches below normal. Following light snowfall followed by rain for an hour, Srinagar recorded considerable drop in the mercury though the minimum temperature was two degree above normal.

Met department said this evening that the maximum temperature settled at 3.2 degree, five notches below normal. He said light rain or snow would occur and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 6 degree and minus 1 degree respectively in Srinagar during the next 24 hours. (AGENCIES)
