JAMMU, Mar 14: SR College of Competitions here today organised workshops on General Studies and Optional subjects for candidates preparing for the 2021 Civil Services Examinations.
One of the faculty members from Mumbai dealt with all the stages of the exam and the issues like nature of the exam, structure, stages and the strategy to prepare for the preliminary test, mains exam and finally for the personality test/interview.
Gautam Kumar-expert in subjects like ethics, aptitude and integrity, international relations, internal security, governance and social justice elaborated a detailed strategy to prepare for all the four papers of General Studies in mains and also delved on preparing for the exams in a time bound manner.
He also guided the students about Civil Services Aptitude Test, Essay paper, answer writing and the Public Administration Optional.
Separate sessions were organised for various other Optional subjects by experts who guided the aspirants comprehensively about the selection and suitability of these Optional subjects.
Gautam cautioned the students about the effect of negative marking in the prelims and provided a well calculated approach on number of questions to be attempted.
“The response for the prelims and mains test series is overwhelming and the students have requested the College management to start another test series close to the prelims and mains exam dates so that their preparation is assessed and evaluated,” said Praful Sharma, Chief Office Coordinator.
“The College has been conducting workshops every Sunday and this workshop was fourteenth in the series where aspirants raised various queries especially the sources of material required and making of notes to crack the exam,” informed Rachna Koul, Office Coordinator.
