Spot demand lifts mentha oil futures

NEW DELHI, July 17: Mentha oil rose 0.79 per cent to Rs 995 per kg in futures trade today supported by pickup in demand from consuming industries at the spot market.

Besides, restricted arrivals from producing regions supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August moved up by Rs 7.80, or 0.79 per cent to Rs 995 per kg in a business turnover of 483 lots.

Similarly, the oil for delivery in July contracts traded higher by Rs 7.50, or 0.77 per cent to Rs 977 per kg in 661 lots.

Analysts said the rise in mentha oil at futures trade was mostly due to rising demand from consuming industries at the spot market amidst restricted arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh. (PTI)
