Phillip Hughes was an Australian Test cricketer, who was born on November 30, 1988 in Macksville, a small town on the coast of New South Wales. He recently died while playing in Sheffield Shield (Domestic Match) on November 27, 2014. He was struck by a bouncer and remained unconscious for two days before dying due to Vertebral Artery Dissection. Hughes made his Test Debut on February 26, 2009 against South Africa and played 26 matches till his death. He scored 1, 535 runs at an average of 32 with best score of 160 runs. He has also played 25 ODI matches scoring 826 runs with best of 138 runs. He played last ODI match before his death against Pakistan on October 12, 2014. Hughes had also an impressive First Class cricket record with more than 9000 runs to his name. He became youngest player to score centuries in both the innings of a Test match in 2009. He also became the first Australian to score a century on ODI Debut. He was also a talented Rugby player. He had the honour to represent Australia in Under-19 World Cup. Hughes also had recently made his T20 Debut in International Cricket. He was a very struggling player and a good sportsman. He was unlucky to die for the game which he treated as his life.
He was rated to be one of the most talented youngsters in Australia. Legendary Australian cricketers are in shell-shock after his death.
