Born on July 23, 1990, Yuzvendra Chahal is a cricketer who plays for Haryana in Indian domestic cricket. He is a right arm leg break bowler and a right-handed lower-order batsman. He is presently member of Royal Challengers Bangalore in Indian Premier League (IPL) and was earlier a member of Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He got the man of the match award against Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2014. He was also part of Indian Under-16 Chess team. He is the only player to represent India in Chess and Cricket. His name is listed in FIDE’s official site. At domestic circuit, Chahal has represented Haryana, Mumbai Indians and RCB. In 11 First Class matches, Chahal has taken 19 wickets with bowling average of 26.78, while in List A matches, he has taken 14 wickets with a bowling average of 19.71 and in 21 T20 matches, Chahal has taken 18 wickets with an average of 16.66. His best bowling figures in First Class matches has been 4/22, while his best figures in List A matches has been 6/24 and in T20 matches Chahal has the best bowling figures of 3/11. For his consistent performances, Chahal got the nod of National selectors for being picked in India A team. Chahal is one among very few young cricketers in the country, who is knocking at the doors of International cricket. He was part of the India A squad which played against West Indies at Mohali recently. He took 3 wickets in that match.
