Born on October 8, 1971 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, Parveen Tambe is an Indian right-arm leg spin bowler. Tambe made his IPL debut at the age of 41 against Delhi Daredevils on May 7, 2013, becoming the oldest cricketer to make debut in IPL. Parveen wanted to become a fast bowler but his orient shipping captain, Ajay Kadam asked him to bowl leg-spin. He had mainly played cricket at Club Level. He was part of Shivaji Park Gymkhana team where his leg-spin impressed Sandeep Patil as well. He is widely appreciated for his flipper delivery. He came into limelight when he was selected in Rajasthan Royals in IPL without playing First-Class Cricket. He has also received Golden Wicket award in Champions League T20 and is so far the only bowler to take 10 wickets in CLT20. Tambe has played 15 T20 matches till date and has taken 13 wickets with an average of 12.76. He received his maiden call for Mumbai Cricket team squad in First Class Cricket (2014 Ranji Trophy). He made his debut against Orissa and has played 2 FC matches till date, taking 2 wickets. His highest score is 42. He also had a very good 2013 IPL and became the first bowler to take hat-trick in 2014 IPL against KKR on May 5, 2014, which earned him man of the match award. Currently Praveen Tambe captains the DV Patil Sports Academy B team in Navi Mumbai.
