KarunBorn on December 6, 1991, Karun Kaladharan Nair is an Indian cricketer who plays for Karnataka. He is a right-hand batsman and off break bowler. He was a member of Royal Challengers Bangalore squad in 2013 Indian Premier League. In the 2014 IPL auction, he was signed-up by the Rajasthan Royals.
At the 2014 IPL, Nair had a bad debut for Rajasthan Royals with a score of 1. He continued in the next match and scored 8. In his third match, he scored 73 not out facing 50 deliveries and took Rajasthan to a victory against Delhi Daredevils. He added one more fifty to his name against Chennai and also scored 48 against Mumbai Indians.
For Karnataka in the final of the Ranji Trophy in 2014-15, he made 328 in 560 balls making many records. He batted from late on the first day till early on the fourth day. Karnataka made 762 and beat Tamil Nadu by an innings and 217 runs.
Karnataka batsman Karun Nair had an outstanding debut first-class season in 2013-14, becoming an instrumental part of the side that swept to the Ranji and Irani titles. He hit centuries in three successive Ranji matches, including the quarter-finals and the semi-finals, and also hit the winning six that ended Karnataka’s 15-year-wait for a Ranji title. The hundreds were even more impressive for someone who went four years without scoring a century at age-group level in his teens. Nair was good enough to make the Karnataka Under-19 team when he was 15, and steadily climbed the rungs before making the Ranji side in his early 20s. He struck a fabulous ton against South Africa A team in a 4-day unofficial Test match in the ongoing Series.
