UDHAMPUR, June 4: The police arrested an SPO and recovered some quantity of heroin from his possession in Udhampur area today.

Official sources saiod that a police team from Police Station Udhampur led by SHO during patrolling near Phangyal area of Udhampur town intercepted one suspicious person, who on seeing police party tried to escape from the spot but was apprehended by the police party.
On the frisking of apprehended person namely Vishal Singh (SPO posted at DPL Udhampur), son of Jagdish Singh, resident of Shakti Nagar, Udhampur, the police team recovered 5.64 grams of heroin/contraband substance from his possession. The SPO was arrested and a case FIR No. 198/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered against him at PS Udhampur. Further investigation of the case is underway.
