Special welfare relief sanctioned for NoKs of deceased cops, SPOs

PET, PST for 2 Border Bns re-starting from Dec 24

JAMMU, Dec 10: Continuing with its endeavour to provide financial assistance to the families of the police personnel who have passed away while in service, the Director-General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh has sanctioned Rs 90 lakh as special welfare relief for NoKs of deceased police personnel and SPOs.
While as Rs 50,000 financial assistance has been sanctioned in favour of two police personnel whose residential houses got damaged due to accidental fire incidents.
The special welfare relief of Rs 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents and legal heirs of deceased personnel HC Shah Mohammad, HC Rakesh Kumar and Constable Ghulam Hussain. Out of this amount, Rs 1 lakh each has been already paid to the families and NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units. The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund.
DGP has also sanctioned Rs 30 lakh in favour of NoKs of six deceased SPOs. Five lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of families and legal heirs of deceased SPOs Chamail Singh, Saroop Chand, Bodh Raj, Isher Chand, Abdul Rehman and Anil Kumar who expired while they were engaged with the department. Out of this amount Rs 50,000 each was already paid to the families and NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief. The financial assistance has been given out of Contributory Police Welfare Fund of SPOs.
Meanwhile, the DGP also sanctioned Rs 25,000 each as financial assistance have been sanctioned in favour of Follower Abdul Rashid and Constable Firdouse Ahmad whose residential houses were damaged due to accidental fire incidents.
However, Physical Endurance Test/Physical Standard Test (PET/PST) for all those remaining candidates of Districts Jammu and Samba who have applied for the post of constable in 2 Border Battalions in J&K Police which was postponed in the month of March-2020 due to outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic is going to re-start from December 24, 2020 at UTDRF Ground (venue already earmarked for the event) adjacent to Gulshan Ground Jammu.
The Candidates are advised to download their fresh admit cards and undertaking/no risk certificate which should be duly signed by the candidates and counter signed by parent/ guardian before their participation in the event. All the candidates must also be in possession of a COVID free certificate with them (the COVID Test must have been conducted within last 48 hours). The Admit Cards and undertaking/no risk certificate will be made available to the aspiring candidates from December 17 on the official website of J&K Police i.e. www.jkpolice.gov.in.
