JAMMU, Nov 17: R.C. Tayal, Special Director General, CRPF, J&K Zone, called on N. N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today.
Mr. Tayal briefed the Governor about the obtaining security situation and the arrangements being made for the safe conduct of the forthcoming Assembly elections in the State.
Prof. Sudhir K. Jain, Vice-Chancellor, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) also called on Governor and briefed him about several important issues relating to the academic and administrative functioning and expansion plans of the University.
The Governor advised Prof. Jain to take all necessary steps to ensure that this University progresses speedily to develop a reputation as an institution of excellence.
