JAMMU, Oct 18: With a view to provide service at the door steps to the general masses, two days Special Awareness Camps for Power Development Department’s Amnesty Scheme 2015 and regularization of unregistered connections organized by Electric Maintenance & RE Division-II, Gandhi Nagar commenced today.
The camps were held at 22 different location of Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat, Nanak Nagar, Sunjwan, Bahu Fort, Kunjwani, Nai Basti, Shastri Nagar, Preet Nagar, Chatha and other towns of Tehsil RS Pura and Bishnah.
Large number of people approached at the camps and they were apprised about the benefits of the Amnesty Scheme 2015 launched by the Government.
On the first day of the camp today, 1431 application for availing Amnesty Scheme were received from the consumers who opted to liquidate their arrears in installments upto March 2016. About 243 applications were also received for regularization of unregistered and temporary connections.
These camps will also continue tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm. He requested general public to come in large numbers and avail benefits of this Amnesty Scheme.
