SRINAGAR, May 23: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Mubarak Gul has directed the authorities of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) to start face-lifting of shopping complex at Nallamar. He also asked them to construct three sanitary units on modern lines in Eidgah Constituency.
These directions were given by the Speaker while chairing a meeting with the officers of SDA here convened to review the status of the overall progress of the works executed by the Authority in the Eidgah Constituency.
Threadbare discussion was held on construction of temporary sheds, dispensary and community hall.
While discussing the issue of rehabilitation of 22 families who will be dislocated due to construction work on beautification of Jehlum, the Speaker asked the Vice Chairman, SDA Shafat Noor Barlass to identify the land for these families so that the plots are allotted to them at the earliest.
In another meeting held with the officers and engineers of Sports Council with regard to sports facilities for the youth of the area, the Speaker directed the authorities of Sports Council to ensure necessary renovation works of Madre-Meharban Sports Stadium. He also asked them to develop playing fields at Sangam, Goripora and Palpora.
Secretary, Sports Council Dilip Thusoo and other officers of Sports Council and Assembly Secretariat also attended the meeting.
