Speaker kick starts macadamization work

JAMMU, July 13: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today kick started  up-gradation of Chatha-Miran Sahib road under  macadamization  programme which will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder said that up-gradation of road network is one of the top-most priorities of the Coalition Government and all important roads will be up-graded and blacktopped across the State under a well-knit programme.
The Speaker directed the executing agency to complete the work in a stipulated time frame ensuring the quality of works. He asked people  to monitor the pace of on-going works in their respective areas, saying that there should be no compromise on quality of work.
Responding to the demands put forth by the locals with regard to development of area, the Speaker said that a comprehensive plan has been devised for up-gradation and expansion of basic facilities to the people. He also sought people’s cooperation for cent percent implementation of development programmes.
Earlier, during visit of Ajeet Nagar and Bikram Singh Nagar of Gadigarh, the Speaker directed the concerned for construction of deep drain in the areas for ensuring proper drainage of water especially in the rainy season.
Among others, various officers of line departments and locals were present on the occasion.
