Speaker holds public redressal camp at Gangyal

JAMMU, Apr 22: Speaker, Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today convened a grievances redressal camp at Ward No. 56 Gangyal in Gandhi Nagar constituency today.
During the meeting, the Speaker gave patient hearing to the issues and demands put forth by the locals for early redressal which include supply of adequate drinking water, cleanliness of nallah passing through the area, construction of lanes and drains, installation of electric poles and replacement of damaged transformers, construction of bridge and placement of dustbins inside the colony.
While highlighting numerous projects being executed in the State, the Speaker said that present dispensation is working tirelessly to benefit the common masses through several developmental initiatives being executed in the State besides augmenting the existing infrastructure of numerous sectors of the Government.
The Speaker said that several flagship programs have been started in the Gandhi Nagar constituency since 2015 for its face-lifting with multi crore developmental projects including blacktopping of roads, construction of lanes, drains, power augmentation, proper water supply, constructions of public parks, revamping of 20 kms nallahs and several others.
“A Cable Car Project is being set up to connect heritage and eligous sites of Jammu city including Bagh-e-Bahu, Mubarak Mandi heritage palace, Mahamaya temple, Bawe Mata Temple and Peerkho for pilgrims and tourists, “he added.
He also said that several other developmental projects are in pipeline to give further boost in the developmental process of the area.
The Speaker gave on spot directions to the concerned for surface clearance and desilting of drains to avoid its choking, besides said that all the genuine demands will be addressed at earliest.
He also directed the concerned officers that watercourse be constructed alongside of lanes to avoid submerging of roads. He appealed people to take positive role in sanitation process of their area and make their environs free of garbage.
Senior officers of concerned departments, senior political leaders and prominent citizens were present on the occassion.
