POONCH, Apr 22: In a major drive to ensure punctuality and regularity in Government offices, Attendance Monitoring Squads constituted by District Develop-ment Commissioner, Poonch insp-ected various Government offices in all tehsils of district Poonch.
In a massive activity during the entire day, 845 Anganwadi centres were checked, out of which 184 centres were found locked.
Pertinent to mention, the squad had carried a similar exercise couple of days ago. Explanation is being sought from District Programme Officer, ICDS and CDPOs concerned for lack of proper monitoring in the department.
In another exercise by the squad in Haveli and Mandi tehsils, two PHCs and two sub centres were found locked during the day. These include PHCs at Qasba and Arai and Sub centres at Islamabad and Dunugam.
Taking a cognizance of dereliction of duty entire staff of these four health institutions has been placed under suspension.
In another revelation a medical officer at PHC Chandak was found to have been marked on casual leave which BMO Mandi denied having granted any leave. Chief Medical Officer Poonch has initiated disciplinary action under rules.
During a surprise visit of the officials the District Library Poonch was also found locked at 11:30 am. Both the Incharge Librarian and Junior Librarian have been placed under suspension.
District Administration Poonch has taken a major initiative to ensure punctuality in Government offices for an effective public service delivery. The absenteeism is being dealt with under rules governing the service matters.
