Speaker highlights role of Army on DAD raising day

JAMMU, Oct 1: Lauding the army for their commendable role in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers and to ensure peace and tranquility, the Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta highlighted the contributions of the gallant warriors and the budding soldiers.
Addressing the gathering during raising day celebrations of Defence Accounts Department (DAD) at Principal Controller Defence Accounts (PCDA), Northern Command, here today, the Speaker appreciated the unique example of communal harmony and brotherhood which the Indian Army has always kept high and also an encouraging factor for the entire nation to feel proud of.
The celebrations of the raising day had started week ago and culminated today with the distribution of prizes to the winners of different competitions. On the occasion, a cultural programme was also organized by Department of Information and Public Relations depicting the rich cultural heritage of the state.
Department of Information added life to the stage as their seasoned artists sang Kashmiri, Dogri and Hindi songs. The dance performances by the artists energized the audience. Dance items were performed by wards of DAD employees who lit the stage with their fervor and graceful moves.
Principal Controller Defence Accounts, Northern Command, N Neihsial applauded the staff for taking the name of the department high by their excellent performances.
Various sports activities like badminton, table tennis and Kabaddi saw enthusiastic participation of the employees. Sunny from administrative section won both badminton and table tennis matches.
