JAMMU, Feb 8: Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, dedicated an upgraded park to the people of Gandhi Nagar area.
The upgradation project for the park has been completed with a cost of Rs 4.70 lakh.
Speaking on the occasion, Kavinder said that the park will provide the inhabitants an encouraging environment to exercise, socialize and spend time in evening hours to relieve themselves from routine stress.
Highlighting development works being done in the area, the Speaker informed that several works are in progress at various places which inter alia include construction and renovation of existing roads and link roads, upgradation of parks in the area.
“The present dispensation is laying focused attention on ensuring durable infrastructural facilities in all sectors”, Speaker maintained.
He exhorted upon the people to treat all public utilities as their own assets and help in proper maintenance of the same.
The Speaker also visited 64th park and directed the officers of Floriculture Department to install and maintain LED’s in every park.
He gave a patient hearing to the issues raised by the locals, on the occasion, and assured them that all their genuine issues will be addressed in a phased manner.
Member of Legislative Council, Vikram Randhawa besides officers of Floriculture Department and locals were present on the occasion.
