Leh, May 3: On the fifth day of his visit to Changthang Sub-Division, the Chief Executive Councilor, LAHDC Leh Rigzin Spalbar along with Executive Councilors Health Dr. Sonam Wangchuk and Animal & Sheep Husbandry Gyurmet Dorjey, Councilor Chushul Namgyal Phuntsog, Councilor Durbuk Namgyal Dorjey visited Barma, Khera Pullu, Sato, Yerat, Chilam, Pholongley, Shachukul and Tharuk villages.
CEC at Tangtse inaugurated the ‘Interpretation Centre-cum-Multipurpose Hall Tangtse’ built at a cost of Rs. 90.74 lakhs under PIDDC; the newly sanctioned medical sub-centre at Yerat and a village hut of 9 numbers of shops built at a cost of Rs. 15 lakh by RDD at Tangtse.
In Chushul constituency, CEC inaugurated a motorable bridge for Pharka, Burma and Kargyam built at a cost of Rs. 39.83 lakhs under AIDP by PWD; at Residential School Sato a 2 numbers of dormitories, dining hall, 3 numbers of additional solarised bathrooms under MSDP at a cost of Rs. 54.18 lakhs by PWD and a new building of Middle School Sato built under RMSA at a cost of Rs. 33.88 lakhs by PWD.
At Sato, CEC visited the Sato Residential School, met with the staff and had interactions with the students. In addition to the already available power supply from solarised power supply, CEC said that arrangement of a generator for power back-up will be made.
Listening to the serious problem of contaminated water source from hand-pumps at Sato, Barma and Khera Pullu, CEC directed PHE and Medical Departments for forming up of a joint team to conduct a biological test and to submit a report at the earliest to chalk out a solution.
The villagers of Chilam, Pholongley, Shachukul and Tharuk also kept their demands and grievances in front of CEC, who gave on spot directions to the concerned officers.
