NEW DELHI, Dec 27: J&K Pradesh Congress Committee president Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz (MP) today led a delegation of J&K Jat Sabha to the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde here today and took up the issue of reservation of the community.
Accompanied by Minister for PHE, I&FC Sham Lal Sharma, president J&K Jat Mahasabha Ch Manmohan Singh ( Ex-Mayor) and others the delegation sought inclusion of Jats of J&K State for provision of reservation within OBC category as decided by Union Cabinet recently.
While appreciating the perception of Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and others on this issue, the Home Minister assured the delegation that besides taking up the issue with the Prime Minister he would write to J&K Government to provide the needed reservation to Jat community in the State within the OBC category as early as possible.
