SRINAGAR, Sept 27: J&K PCC president and former Union Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz along with representatives of Saffron Growers Association, Kashmir Fruit Growers-cum- Dealers Association and Kashmir Artisans Association met the visiting President of India Pranab Mukherjee here today and apprised him of their problems.
The Kashmir saffron growers claimed that they can guarantee supply of high quality saffron without any trace of adulteration  and there has to be a wider market available in India for their product. The artisans delegation represented the fact that while their products are traditionally of high quality, fake materials of carpet, shawls etc are sold within and outside India with the level as “Made in Kashmir”. This fraudulent practice has to be checked.
The Kashmir fruit growers also projected their problems  and demanded that apples be also brought under the scheme in Agriculture  for insurance. They also demanded abolition of tax for export of apple to Bangladesh and subsidy on transportation of  horticulture produce from Kashmir to foreign countries.
Later, Prof Soz also led the delegation of  senior functionaries of J&K PCC including Mohd Muzaffar Parray, Bashir Ahmed Magray, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Abdul Majid Padder, Khem Lata Wakhloo, Mohd Anwar Bhat and others.
