Soz group skips DyCM’s At Home

JAMMU, Aug 16: Despite clear instructions from AICC president Sonia Gandhi  that no factionalism would be tolerated in the party rank and file, most of the members from Pradesh Congress Committee chief  Prof Saif-ud-Din’s group  were found missing in the function (At Home) hosted by Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand in connection with the Independence day here last evening.
Except former Deputy  Chief Minister Pt Mangat Ram Sharma, who is said to be  a neutral Congressman, no sitting or former minister from the party was found in the function.  However, two BJP MLAs Ashok Khajuria from Jammu East and  Jugal Kishore from Nagrota were seen attending the function besides a selective gathering of citizens and politicians.
PCC spokesperson and party general secretary Ravinder Sharma (MLC) when contacted said that he had  not received any invitation for the function  this time. Even the main people from PCC including Dharam Pal Sharma, Th Hari Singh, Chairman Legislative Council Amrit Malhotra, former Dy Chairman Arvinder Singh Micky and former minister Yogesh Sawhney, DCC Jammu president Om Chopra, former ministers Mula Ram, Suman Bhagat, Jugal Kishore Sharma stayed away from the function.
Congress Ministers R S Chib, Sham Lal Sharma, Manohar Lal Sharma were not seen in the At Home. Revenue Minister  Raman Bhalla said that he was in Poonch and returned late in the night. Manohar Lal (MoS) when contacted said that he had no invitation at all for the At Home function of the DyCM. Interestingly, majority of the members from the Azad group were also seen missing in the function.
