JAMMU, Oct 29: A meeting of All J&K Stationery and Office Supplies (SOS) Department Employees Association was held here today under the leadership of its president, Babu Hussain Malik, to highlight their demands.
Speaking in the meeting, Malik appealed the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to consider their burning demands including removal of pay anomalies and reorganization of clerical cadre, regularization of daily wagers/contractual/adhoc and daily rated workers, enhancement of retirement age from 58 to 60 years and medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month, as per the agreement made between State Government and employees’ representatives on October 15, 2011.
He appealed all the sections of employees to unite under the single platform irrespective of any affiliation with any group and to be cautious of all those anti-employees leaders, who are working on the behest of the Government to sabotage the employees’ movement.
He also rejected the inclusion of retired Government employees in any negotiation with the Government on the issues of employees.
The meeting was attended by Seva Ram, Uday Singh Pathania, Veeraji Koul, Dwarka Nath, Dalip Singh, Mohd Shafiq, Kuldeep Kumar and many others.
