Sonia, Rahul offer to resign; CWC says no

NEW DELHI : Owning up moral responsibility for the party’s massive debacle in the Lok Sabha polls, Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi today offered to resign from their positions, but it was outrightly rejected by the Congress Working Committee.

Mr Makhan Lal Fotedar, senior leader of the party, told reporters that the general consensus was that the main focus should be on revival of the Congress.

According to him, the Modi Government would fall sooner than later. (AGENCIES)
