Son of soil promoted as DGP in AP

JAMMU, Dec 31: Son of the soil Harish Kumar Gupta, an IPS officer of 1992 batch of Andhra Pradesh cadre, has been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).
On his promotion, the Andhra Pradesh Government has retained Gupta as Chairman AP State Level Police Recruitment Board.
The Andhra Pradesh Government today promoted a total of seven police officers of 1990, 1991 and 1992 batch to the rank of DGP.
Gupta has served as Superintendent of Police in Naxal affected areas in Andhra Pradesh, He also worked as Joint CP Administration and Special Branch in Hyderabad City.
Gupta is the awardee of various Medals including Indian Police Medal and President Police Medal. He has studied in the United States and United Kingdom.
He also remained posted as ADGP Law & Order & Chairman SLPRB in AP.
