Somaiya demands resignation of Dr Abdullah from Union Cabinet

JAMMU, Oct 4: The BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas broke his 48 hour long fast today after he was offered a glass of juice by former MP, National Secretary & BJP Scams Committee National Convener, Dr Kirit Somaiya. Dr Somaiya specially came to Jammu from Union Capital for this purpose this morning.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Somaiya said that Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) President, Dr. Farooq Abdullah, who is also Union Minister, should resign from the Union Cabinet on the same precedence as Shashi Tharoor had resigned in view of allegations of his involvement in IPL scam. He said that two Union Ministers -Sharad Pawar and Ajay Makan- are trying to protect Dr Farooq Abdullah because of their closeness to him. The Congress High Command is also favouring Dr Farooq Abdullah because of their alliance with National Conference.
Dr Somaiya said that the cricket has become a household game in India and it is unfortunate that six months have passed since JKCA scam was exposed but neither the Central Government nor the State Government has taken any action. He said the BJP will continue its struggle against weeding out of corruption from public life.
Shamsher Singh Manhas said that his 48 hour fast was resorted to him to register the protest against the rising corruption in the State and to mobilize the public opinion against the same.
Dozens of other party activists, who had joined fast for 24 hours including Yudhvir Sethi,  Arun Chibber, Munish Sharma, Surinder Singh,  Priya Jral, Jeet Angral, Manu Manav Mahajan, Chetan Mehra, Arjun Sharma, Tripta Jamwal and Kanta Devi.
