Srinagar, Dec 2: An army jawan was killed while three others were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell down into a deep gorge in Tanghdar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district today.
Police said the army’s Jammer bearing registration number 13C-0966666 M of 26 Rajput met with an accident at Khoni Nallah near Sadna Top and fell down 300 feet deep into a gorge, resulting in on spot death of one army man identified as Hawaldar Sugriv Singh and injuries to three others.
Police identified the injured as Sepoy Ray Singh of 26 Rajput, Havaldar Thasong Lama and Niak Tema Tamang, both are from 3/1 GR. All the injured were immediately shifted to military hospital Drugmulla for treatment.
A case has been registered in this regard and police have started investigations.
