Soldier injured in Pak sniper firing along LoC in Rajouri

JAMMU: An Army jawan was injured when he was reportedly hit by a Pakistani sniper firing from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district today, officials said.

The soldier was manning a forward post at Pokhra in Kalal area of Nowshera sector and received a gunshot injury from across the border, apparently from a Pakistani sniper, they said.

The soldier was referred to the Command Hospital Udhampur after initial treatment at the local military hospital and his condition is stated to be “stable”, they added.

This is the first ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the LoC or International Border in the past nearly one month.  (AGENCIES)
