KUTHUA: To match the aspirations of the people regarding good, transparent and accountable governance at their doorstep, the Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh held public grievance redressal camps at village Lakhri and Billawar here today and listened to the problems and grievances being faced by the people living at remote and far off places.
Exhibiting satisfaction over quantum of development works completed by the present State Coalition Government in the past three years in all the regions, Dr. Singh stated that not only State but Central Government is also providing us helping hand to tread the path of progress in leap and bounds. Talking specifically of Billawar, Dy CM said that road connectivity through PMGSY and CRF schemes have been improved significantly whereas, to revamp PDD scenario the possibility of Solar Power will be explored to the fullest to provide affordable and quality power round the clock.
Dr. Singh further said that the vision of the Prime Minister to provide electricity to every un-electrified household of the country can be realized through Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana (SAUBHAGYA) scheme by providing power connection at people’s doorstep and the scheme is designed in such a way that the poorest of the poor can afford electricity in their homes.
To mitigate traffic woes in Billawar town and to give alternate approach to Naz ground, Dy CM also laid foundation of road worth Rs. 1 Crore and 15 Lakhs to be executed by J&K Housing Board and will be considered as the 1st phase of ring road from Naz Bridge to Naz ground and further connecting Billawar town.
He also inspected the ongoing work of Indoor Stadium and directed the executing agency to further speed up their pace to meet the set timeline besides directed ADC to take effective measures in consultation with the flood control department to stop soil erosion along the boundary of Naz ground. He further talked to the budding players and assured them that state of the art facilities will be provided to them once the construction of Indoor Stadium gets completed.
Dr. Nirmal Singh also inspected the renovation and beautification works under taken at Garhi Fort aimed at strengthening the landscape along with conserving the historic monument besides providing adequate amenities to visitors and tourists at the site. He also kick-started the construction work of Boundary wall at Garhi Fort.
Later, the Dy CM also inaugurated 3.5 Km road from Thara Kalyal to Sialna completed with an estimated cost of Rs. 2 Crores.
MLA Bani, Jeevan Lal also highlighted various feats achieved by the present dispensation in providing basic amenities to the people living in remote and hilly areas and underscored the importance of role of electricity in human and socio-economic development.
He also added that to ensure last mile connectivity and electricity connections to all remaining un-electrified urban and rural households in the State the present dispensation has launched several schemes and the people should come forward to reap the benefits of these schemes.
Among others, ADC Billawar, Joginder Singh Rai and other officers were accompanying the Dy CM during his visit.
