JAMMU, Jan 1: Newly appointed AICC Incharge for J&K affairs of the Congress Party, Bharat Singh Solanki, former Union Minister, shall be arriving here on January 5 and address an important party convention in Jammu to gear up for upcoming Lok Sabha polls and to press the Government for early Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir.
JKPCC president Vikar Rasool Wani declared this here today in a meeting of senior functionaries of PCC, DCC and frontal organizations. He said that newly appointed Incharge for J&K, Solanki along with newly appointed general secretary AICC, GA Mir shall be arriving here on January 5 and address the conventions of prominent workers of Jammu province at Kashmir Hills Banquet Hall, Paloura in Jammu the same day.
Wani asked party leaders to mobilize prominent workers of adjoining districts and block functionaries to attend the convention, which shall be attended by all senior functionaries of PCC, Districts and Blocks besides former Ministers, Ex-Legislators and other prominent leaders.
He said that the party has to gear up for the upcoming election to the Lok Sabha and to press the Government for early elections to the State Assembly as per Supreme Court directions. The party shall hold a threadbare discussion to gear up for the preparations to start mobilizations of cadres and to go to the masses.
Wani said that Congress shall expose the failures of BJP Govt on all fronts and depriving people of J&K of their political and economic rights, leading to large scale economic distress and unemployment besides unprecedented price hike and huge taxations and imposition of fees on common people.
The meeting was attended by working president JKPCC Raman Bhalla, senior vice presidents Mula Ram, Th Balwan Singh and Ravinder Sharma (chief spokesperson); vice presidents- TS Bajwa, Indu Pawar, Ved Mahajan, Ch Shah Mohd, Yash Pal Kundal, Vinod Sharma, Hari Singh Chib and Rajnish Sharma ( Treasurer); general secretaries Ashok Dogra, Dina Nath Bhagat, MK Bhardwaj, Pawan Raina, Shashi Sharma, TS Tony, Naresh Sharma, Suresh Dogra, Parveen Sarwar Khan, Narinder Sharma, Balbir Singh, Rajesh Sadotra, Subash Bhagat and Thomas Khokhar besides DCC presidents, heads of various frontal organizations and others.
