JAMMU, Dec 29: S.S Sodhi, Chairman J&K Intellectual Civil Society and Director DPS schools, was awarded Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Excellence Award by Lt General Ajay Kumar Singh, former Lt Governor of Puducherry & Andaman & Nicobar Islands in an impressive ceremony during a conference on ‘Economic Growth and National Integration’ at New Delhi.
The Conference was organized by India International Friendship Society (IIFS), a non-governmental society of repute.
The award was presented to Sodhi in recognition for his meritorious services, outstanding performance and remarkable role played in contributing towards the society by promoting and encouraging education, games and charitable work done for the overall upliftment and development of the society.
The IIFS honoured some successful meritorious Indian personalities with the most prestigious ‘Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Excellence Award’, who have specialized in various fields like science & technology, education, industry, fine arts, politics and social work, in lieu of the yeoman services rendered by them with excellence in their respective fields.
