JAMMU, Jan 27: Various social organizations, Mohalla Committees and Trade organizations celebrated 71th Republic Day with fervor and gaiety across Jammu region yesterday.
Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS): In connection with celebration of Republic Day DSS held a glittering function at its Sabha Bhawan , Dogra Hall, Jammu in which Col. (retd) Karan Singh , vice president, DSS hoisted the National Flag which was followed by National Anthem. The members of DSS present on the occasion pledged to protect the unity and integrity of the country in general and J&K UT in particular. Sweets were also distributed among the participants in the function.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) : On the occasion of Republic Day JCMS organised a grant function here at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalimar Road in which Ramesh Chander Gupta , president of the Sabha unfurled the National Flag in presence of a large gathering. On the occasion he also paid tributes to Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan. Others who graced the occasion included Yash Paul Gupta, chief patron of the Sabha, Jugal Mahajan, Kailash Langer, Om Parkash Gupta, Arun Gupta, Dr Mohan Lal Gupta, Dr Madan Gupta, Mukesh Mahajan, Ramesh Chander Gupta.
Bharat Vikas Parishad (BVP): Gandhi Nagar Branch of BVP celebrated 71 st Republic Day at Shivaji Chowk, Nanak Nagar, here . The Flag hoisting was done by S N Sharma , its patron and Dev Raj Sharma national secretary of the organization. The president of BVP while welcoming the members and guests highlighted the importance of the Day. Gopal Gupta, president of the Branch BVP ,Jagdish Singh Isher, its secretary, Sushil Ojha treasurer and Bhopla Dutta , chief organizer managed the programme. Kulbushn Atri recited patriotic poems and Dr Santosh Gupta regional secretary BVP also spoke on the occasion.
The Traders of Shahidi Chowk, Rajinder Bazar GM Chowk Traders Welfare Association: The Association celebrated the Republic Day by hoisting the National Tri Colour at Shahdi Chowk here. On the occasion Halwa and chocolates were distributed among the traders as well as residents of the area.
J&K Branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI): The J&K Branch of ICAI celebrated 71st Republic Day at ICAI Bhawan , Canal Road Jammu in which members and students participated in large numbers. On the occasion chairman of the J&K Branch Institute C A Shalay Razdan along with its Executive Committee members and others members of the Branch unfurled the National Flag and pledged to serve the country and contribute towards the nation building. Nakul Saraf, secretary of the J&K Branch Lalit Kumar Gupta, its vice chairman, Vinay Jamwal treasureur and Arvind Dev Jamwal its chairman were also present on the occasion.
Guru Nabha Dass Samaj Kalyan Parishad J&K: The 71st Republci Day was celebrated by the Parishad at Old Janipur here under the chairmanship of Sansar Chand Krotra , its president. The National Flag was unfurled by the president with other senior and prominent members of the Parishad. The other members of the Sabha were also present on the occasion.
All Jammu & Kashmir Christians Forum (AJKCF) : A grand function as organised by the Forum in connection with celebration of 71 st Republic Day at Amphalla Chowk near district Jail here in which Markes Gill, the State president of the Forum unfurled the National Tri-Colour in presence of a huge gathering. This was followed by singing of National Anthem by the gathering . Gill also distributes sweets among the people. On the occasion slogans like Bharat Mata Ki Jai rent the air.
Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA): The 71st Republic Day was celebrated by the CGPWA with great pomp and show. A grand function was held at Exhibition Ground here where the Tri-Colour was jointly unfurled by former DGP and CVC, Kuldeep Khoda, Dr Ashok Bhan also former DGP and president of the CGPWA, S S Wazir. A large number of the participants sung the National Anthem after hoisting of the National Flag and they took an oath to preserve the Constitutional values and work for amity and communal harmony. This was followed by hosting of a tea party by the Association.
Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF): In connection with celebration of the 71st Republic Day a function was held by CTF at Fruit Complex Narwal in which Neeraj Anand , president of the Federation unfurled the Tri -Colour. He said it is the special day in the History of India. He expressed the hope that in the new innings the J&K would become an epitome of peace and prosperity.
All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC): The 71 st Republic Day was celebrated by ASKPC in premises of ASKPC Bhawan Durga Nagar near, here with great pomp and show. A large number of people attended the function. The National Flag was hoisted by ASKPC president, Ravinder Raina along with its general secretary Dr T K Bhat. This was followed by recitation of National Anthem. The function was also attended by Bharat Bushan Gosani, Ravi Raina, Ravinder Razdan etc.
All India Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AIMCCC): In connection with celebration of Republic Day a grand function was organized by AIMCCC at Jagti township under the leadership of its president Desh Rattan. On the occasion he hoisted the National Flag along with B L Saraf, retired District and Session judge, Roshan Lal Bhat, B K Raina, S K Koul, Daljeet Singh, Chandera Dhar, Meenu Misri and T N Koul. A prize distribution was also performed on the occasion in which photo journalist Rajinder Kitchloo, Swami Kumar Ji, B K Raina, Piarey Lal Pandita, Muklesh Pandita and Devanshi Tickoo were given awards for their service in respective fields. The school children presented a colourful programme on the occasion.
Gandhi Nagar Morning Walkers: A grand function in connection with celebration of Republic Day was organized by Morning walkers of Gandhi Nagar at Green Belt Park. The Park was decorated with Tri -Colours and patriotic songs were played. A senior member of morning walkers and retired Session Judge, H S Bahari unfurled the Tricolour which was followed by the reciting of National Anthem. K B Jandial former member PSC threw light on Constitution of India and appealed the people to respect the Constitutional values and perform the fundamental duties which every Indian is enjoined upon.
District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Poonch : The Republic Day was celebrated by DLSA Poonch in district Court Complex Poonch in which the National Flag was unfurled by Madan Lal, Chairman DLSA Poonch who is also Principal District and Session Judge Poonch and Javed Rana Hakla, secretary DLSA Poonch also participated in the function. Besides, Bar president, Mohammad Zaman and other senior advocates were also present on the occasion.
Tourism Federation Jammu (TFJ): The TFJ held a function here at Rail head Complex Bahu Plaza to celebrate the Republic Day. On the occasion the Federation unfurled the National Flag which was followed by recitation of National Anthem. Federation Chairman Rajesh Gupta said January 26 , 2020 marks the first Republic Day of J&K UT and after over 70 years the people of J&K are breathing the air of justice.
Durga Nag Trust (DNT): In connection with celebration of Republic Day a grand function was held by DNT at its community Hall Anuradhapuram Barnai where the senior trustees including Prof B L Zutshi, M K Jalali, Bihari Kak and others were present. The National Flag on the occasion was unfurled by Manager of the community Hall M L Bhat, Vishamber Nath Rana, president, Anuradha Puram Sector 2. The fruits were distributed among the gathering on the occasion.
TRT Buta Nagar : On the occasion of Republic Day yesterday a function was organised by TRT Buta Nagar in the premises of the Camp in which Ashok Kumar Dhar president of the camp hoisted the Tri Colour. The function was attended by all inmates of TRT.
Trikura Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS): To celebrate the Republic Day TNWS held a function at main market Trikuta Nagar Colony under the chairmanship of Rajinder P Kakkar its president. On the occasion Kavinder Gupta former Dy CM was the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag. He was accompanied by Jyoti Devi councilor Ward 54, Trikuta Nagar.
Kailash Nagar Welfare Society (KNWS): A grand function was organised by KNWS opposite B N Hospital, Talab Tillo today to celebrate the Republic Day. On the occasion president of the Society Ankush Abrol hoisted the National Flag.
Bharat Vikas Parishad , (BVP) Branch Trikuta Nagar : On the occasion of Republic Day yesterday a glittering function was organised by BVP Trikuta Nagar at Shakti Park Sector 9 in the area in which Dr T R Gupta organising secretary All India Ayurvedic Congress was the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag. Neeraj Puri was the guest of honour , Surinder Manhas RSS Maha Nagar Sangh Chalak , Dev Raj Sharma, national secretary, Dr Santosh Gupta, zonal secretary attended the function.
Indian National People Welfare Society (INPWS): On the occasion of Republic Day INPWS organised a function at Ram Leela ground Bahu Fort in which general secretary of the Society, Mrs Bhagyawati unfurled the National Flag.
JRC Home For Handicapped (JRCHFH) Udheywala: In connection with celebration of Republic Day Home For Handicapped held a grand function at Udheywala yesterday in which Youth Congress leader Satish Kumar Sharma hoisted the National Flag. He distributed sweets and gifts among the inmates of the home on the occasion.
All J&K Scheduled Caste Welfare Association (AJKSCWA), Jammu: The Association held a function on the occasion of Republic Day at its head office Janipur yesterday in which Om Raj Bhall, vice president of the Association unfurled the National Flag along with the other office bearers. They also paid homage to those who laid down their lives for the independence of the country during freedom struggle.
Executive body of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha J&K led by Arun Chowdhary organized a meeting to extend Republic Day greetings to the people of J&K on 71st Republic Day. All Arya Samajis of J&K actively participated and celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm. National Anthem was recited by Arya Veerangana Dal led by Mrs. Sukriti Chowdhary, Sanchalika of Arya Veerangana Dal J&K.
Udhampur Development Council (UDC) organized a grand function to celebrate the Republic Day wherein Anil Paba, president UDC hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Parvesh Parihar, UDC General Secretary; Vikas Upadhaya, Rakesh Padha and others.
Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu celebrated Republic Day with pomp and show wherein the National Flag was hoisted and the National Anthem recited. This was followed by the distribution of handheld replicas of National Flag among the public. Martyrs of the Nation were remembered on this occasion. Puneet Singh Jamwal, Chairman Civil Society for Development of J&K along with other Society members celebrated 71st Republic Day and hoisted the National Flag at Subash Nagar. Contributions of national heroes, top leaders and freedom fighters were lauded on the occasion.
Yuva Sewa Sangh Jammu organized a bike rally to celebrate the 71st Republic Day of India. A large number of youth participated in the rally holding National Flag.
Sangram Sena celebrated the Republic Day and hoisted the National Flag at Panchayat Ghar, Kandoli Nagrota after which Sangram Sena leaders distributed uniforms, fruits and sweets to the poor children of Nagrota Panchayat. Guru Teg Bahadur Educational Society Lakhanpur celebrated 71st Republic Day wherein the National Flag was hoisted by Principal of the Institution.
J&K Human Rights Watch (JKHRW) celebrated the Republic Day wherein activists of the organization threw light on the importance of the day. The National Flag was hoisted by B.L Kapoor, Chairman of JKHRW.
PHE Workers Welfare Association Jammu Province celebrated the Republic Day at PHE City Sub-Division Dounthli wherein many employees and workers of PHE Department participated. Rajneesh Kholi, Assistant Executive Engineer Civil and Bakshi Singh, Provincial President of the Association hoisted the National Flag jointly.
Water Works (PHE) Employees Association Jammu Province celebrated the Republic Day of India at Company Bagh Jammu under the chairmanship of Provincial President of the Association, Balbder Raj and Mitul Sharma, General Secretary of the Association. Shiv Kumar Sharma, INTUC president J&K was the chief guest and he threw light on the importance of the Constitution of India.
To celebrate the Republic Day, District Bar Association Kathua hoisted National Flag at District Court Complex Kathua. President of District the Bar Association, Advocate Ajat Shatru Sharma was the chief guest and he unfurled the Tri-colour Flag. Senior members and office bearers of Bar Association, CRPF staff and many members of civil society were also present on the occasion.
The 71st Republic Day of India was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm at Day Care and Recreation Centre, Ahata-e-Waqar, Lower Roop Nagar. Dr. Dheeraj I/C of the Centre, JMC Councillor, Tripta Devi and Chander Mohan Sharma, ex-MLC along with senior citizens were present on the occasion.
To celebrate the 71st Republic Day, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan organized a cultural programme which was inaugurated by Surinder Sharma, JMC councillor as the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag along with special guest Malik Shabir Ahmed, Principal Cambridge Higher Secondary School, Srinagar and V.K Magotra, Former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity. The programme commenced with National Anthem recitation and the chief guest recalled the contribution of freedom-fighters in attaining India’s freedom.

Indian National Trade Union Congress District Udhampur celebrated Republic Day at PHE Station Barrian. The chief guest on the occasion was K.K Badyal, Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Udhampur and he hoisted the National Flag which was followed by the recitation of National Anthem by the children.
Balgran-a charitable Home for Destitute Children, Channi Rama celebrated the Republic Day wherein the Jammu Municipal Corporation Mayor, Chander Mohan Gupta hoisted the National Flag. Children of Balgran presented colourful programme while A.K Khajuria, President of Balgran talked on the achievements of Balgran.
In the run-up to 71st Republic Day celebrations, Army’s Rashtriya Rifles (RR) based at Doda organized a marathon titled “Run for Fun”. Col Abhishek Rawat urged upon youths to follow the principles of unity in diversity, mutual brotherhood and communal harmony.
Sai Shyam Educational Society celebrated Republic Day. The programme started with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Chairman CL Tickoo along with other staff members. Various cultural items, patriotic songs and skits were performed by the students. Principal Anita Ganjoo three light on the importance of the day. Vote of thanks was presented by Suman Bhat.
Lalded Women Welfare Society organized a Nukkad Play to celebrate Republic Day. The play was written, composed and directed by Naveen Pal. The artists who took part in the play were Naveen Pal, Janu Katoch, Atul Suntal, Reves Giree and Shaishta Malik.
Republic Day was celebrated by Jammu and Kashmir Batwal Welfare Association. President of the Association Subedar Major (Retd) hoisted the National Flag. Most of the attendees were Government employees and retired defence personnel.

Chief guest Dr Tej Krishan Moza and guest of honour Dr Sanjay Pandita unfurled the National Flag in presence of Sanjay Pandita, President JSR Badminton Club and other dignitaries.
Ek Sath Rang Mandal (ESRM) today presented it’s 388TH Monday Theatre With the patriotism theme ” January 26″. Under Monday Theatre series at Paka Talab JDA Park Jammu city.

The Nukad started with country’s famous patriotic song,” Sarey Janha sey Achha Hindustan Hamara”. The play was written and directed by Vijay Malla.
