JAMMU, Jan 27: The 72th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and charm by various social organizations and Trade Unions throughout the Jammu region yesterday.
Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI): In connection with celebration of Republic Day a grand and impressive function was organised by CCI at its office complex at Rail Head here, yesterday in which president of the organization Arun Gupta unfurled the National Flag along with newly elected team members, Anil Gupta, senior vice president, Rajiv Gupta junior vice president, Gaurav Gupta, secretary general, Rajesh Gupta secretary and Rajesh Gupta treasurer. The unfurling of National Flag was followed by reciting of national Anthem. Arun Gupta in his address highlighted the significance of the day and achievements made by country after independence
Water Works (PHE) Employees Association: Continuing the tradition , the Water Works (PHE) Employees Association celebrated the 72nd Republic Day at Company Bagh, Dogra Chowk here yesterday with great charm. The function was held under the chairmanship of Balbder Raj the provincial president of the Association and Ajay Sharma presided over the function.
Shiv Kumar Sharma the State president of INTUC, J&K was the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag and offered greetings to the people on this auspicious occasion.
Rajinder Bazar Traders Welfare Association: The National Flag was unfurled on the occasion of Republic Day yesterday by Krishan Lal Gupta, chairman of the Rajinder Bazar Traders Association. Gupta also congratulated the people who were present in the function.
Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA): The Republic Day was celebrated by BBIA yesterday under the chairmanship of its president Lalit Mahajan. The other office bearers of the Association along with members of civil society were also present on the occasion. On the occasion Lalit Mahajan hoisted the National Flag.
Vishwa Kashmiri Samaj (VKS): In connection with celebration of Republic Day a grand function was organised at migrant township Jagti by VKS in which its convener, Kiran Wattal was the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag in presence of president Global Solace Pintoo Ji. A large number of people participated in the function in which Wattal highlighted the significance of the Day. M K Bangroo, senior journalist, M K Yogi, R L Bhat, ML Padroo and others were also present.
Bharatiya Yog Sanastha (BYS): The Republic Day was also celebrated by BYS at sprawling lawns of its Ashram Gole Gujral near, here yesterday. The programme was quite impressive though short. On the occasion, Tri Colour was hoisted by Satya Pal Sharma president of the Yog Sanstha which was followed by recitation of National Anthem by Sadaks.
National Mazdoor Conference (NMC): Subash Shastri president NMC hoisted the National Tricolour on the occasion of Republic Day at Mahalaxmi Mandir Chowk, Pacca Danga here and Gali Khilonia, Pacca Danga with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. On the occasion other NMC office bearers and Mohalla Welfare Committee members of Ward No 4 were present. The speakers highlighted the significance of Republic Day in their address.
Sulabh International Social Service Organisation (SISSO): In connection with celebration of 72nd Republic Day (SISSO) held a function at its Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here in which Mithilesh Singh who has been awarded the best social worker for the valuable contribution to the organization hoisted the National Flag.
All J&K Megh Sabha (AJKMS):Narinder Datt, president of AJKMS hoisted the National Flag at its Head Quarter, Rehari here in presence of large number of people. Holding of cultural programme presented by the children was the main attraction of the function.
Mangal Market Railway Station Jammu: National Flag was hoisted in Mangal Market , Railway Station here by Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta in presence of Vice Chairman, MC, Katra, Ajay Baru, DTM Railway, Sudhir Kumar and Corporator Ward 54, Lucky Puri. On the occasion Mayor congratulated the people and sweets were distributed among the gathering.
Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) and Global Kashmiri Pandit Diaspora (GKPD): The Republic Day was celebrated yesterday at a grand and impressive function by YAIKS and GKPD in which president of the YAIKS, R K Bhat hoisted the National Flag in presence of other members of the organization. He also highlighted the importance of the Day.
Jammu Kashmir Teachers Federation (JKTF): On behalf of teachers community of district Kishtwar and Zone Drabshalla in particular on the occasion of Republic Day yesterday a grand function was organized at tehsil headquarter, Drabshalla to celebrate the Republic Day. The speakers highlighted the significance of the day and National Flag was also hoisted by the zonal president of the Federation on the occasion.
Bhartiya Anal Sena (BAS) J&K: On the occasion of celebration of Republic Day yesterday here senior vice president of the BAS hoisted the National Tricolour at a simple but impressive function in presence of the other office bearers of the Sena and local residents.
Jammu Kashmir Christian Forum (JKCF): In connection with celebration of Republic Day, the State president of JKCF, Markes Gill hoisted the National Flag at a grand function at Amphalla Chowk near district Jail, Jammu amidst chanting of Bharat Mata Ki Jai by the participants.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS): A grand function was organized by BLSKS yesterday to celebrate the Republic Day in collaboration with Sangam True Art Productions at open Asir Theatre, Durga Bhawan Janipur here. The function was inaugurated by Yash Pal Sharma councilor, JMC. He along with V K Magotra former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity , J K Raina Free Launce Producer and Director , M L Dogra former Regional Director Song and Drama Division and J K Parihar former Music Instructor, Song and Drama Division and Sheikh Sajjad Poonchi, chairman, Kehkashan Cultural organization hoisted the National Flag.
Gangyal Welfare Association (GWA) : A programme was organised at Ramlila Ground, Gangyal in Gandhi Nagar area by (GWA) in connection with celebration of Republic Day yesterday. Senior BJP leader Baldev Singh Billawaria unfurled the National Flag on the occasion. He also highlighted the significance of the Day in his speech. Later the National Flag was also unfurled at Gari Garh, Rajiv Nagar, Kunjwani, Babliana, Narwal, Jeevan Nagar, Trikuta Nagar, Model Town, Nanak Nagar and Digiana.
Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS): A glittering function was organised to celebrate the Republic Day yesterday by (JCMS) at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalimar Road here.
Ramesh Chander Gupta, president of the Sabha along with top brass of the organization unfurled the National Flag on the occasion. During the function Bharat Mata Ki Jai and Shaheed Watan Amar Rehain rent the air. Jugal Mahajan, chief patron of the Sabha also spoke on the occasion.
District Bart Association Kathua (DBAK): The Republic Day was celebrated in the premises of District Court Complex Kathua by DBAK. The chief guest, Ajat Shatru Sharma unfurled the National Flag on the occasion. He was accompanied by the office bearers of the Bar, staff of CRPF and many other members of Civil Society. A Guard of Honour was presented to the Tri Colour by the staff of CRPF on the occasion.
Shiv Nagar residents: The Republic Day was celebrated by Shiv Nagar residents in a befitting manner yesterday. The Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta was the chief guest who unfurled the National Flag. A large number of people attended the function.
Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar (WSGNN): The Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp and show at Nanak Nagar near here yesterday by (WSGNN). On the occasion, National Flag was unfurled by president of the Society Balwinder Singh Rinku and A K Khera chairman of the society. They also highlighted the importance of the day.
The Centre for Jammu & Kashmir Urban & Rural Development (CFJKURD): In connection with celebration of Republic Day a grand function was organised by CFJKURD) at its Headquarters, New Plots here. Sanjay Dhar senior Congress leader and chief patron of the organization unfurled the National Flag on the occasion.
J&K Branch of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI): Large number of the members of ICAI participated in the Republic Day function organised by the organization at ICAI Bhawan Canal road here yesterday. On the occasion chairman of the J&K Branch of ICAI, C A, Lalit Kumar Gupta along with its Executive members unfurled the National Flag. They took a solemn pledge to serve the country and contribute towards national building.
Jammu Province People’s Forum (JPPF): A colourful function was organised to celebrate the Republic Day yesterday by JPPF in its office premises here. On the occasion JPPF president , Pavitar Singh unfurled the National Flag and threw light on the significance of the day. Working president of the Forum, M S Katoch also attended the programme along with its other members.
Chamber of Traders Federation (CTF): On the occasion of Republic Day a grand and impressive function as organised by at Narwal Office of CTF yesterday in which besides unfurling of National Flag, the National Anthem was also recited by the participants. Dedicating the 72nd Republic Day to the efforts of Corona Warriors, Neeraj Anand , president CTF said that business community should take pledge to redouble its efforts and help recover the economy at the fastest possible pace to make the nation strong economically.
Jammu Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC): Arun Chowdhary, General Manager, JKSPDC unfurled the National Flag at a grand function held at the premises of the Corporation at Ashok Nagar yesterday.
Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS): On the occasion of Republic Day an impressive function was organised by TNWS at the main office of the Society at Trikuta Nagar Colony yesterday. The function was chaired by Rajinder Parshad Kakkar, president of the Society while Arun Gupta, president CCI was the chief guest. On the occasion, Kakkar and Gupta along with patron of TNWS Ashok Kumar Arora hoisted the National Flag.
Balgran a charitable home for destitute children: In connection with celebration of Republic Day a glittering function as organised by Balgran at Channi Rama in which its patron A K Arora hoisted the National Flag in presence of members of the organization and children. A K Khajuria president and V K Raina hony secretary of the Balgran also spoke on the occasion.
Aadarsh Bharatiya Samaj (ABS): Republic Day was celebrated at Bhour Camp Chatha by ABS yesterday with fervour and gaiety. On the occasion a grand function was organised in which Ex Capt. Nirman Singh hoisted the National Flag. He expressed gratitude to brave soldiers who fought and sacrificed for the unity and integrity of the country.
Central Government Pensioners Welfare Association (CGPWA): The Republic Day was celebrated with traditional fervour by CGPWA at Day Care Centre, Exhibition Ground , here, yesterday. President of the Association, S S Wazir along with former CVC & DGP Kuldeep Khoda, former DGP, Ashok Bhan, general secretary, J K Vaid unfurled the National Flag. A large number of pensioners participated in the function.
Jagti Tenement Committee & Soan Kashmir Front (JTC&SKF):The National Flag was hoisted at Jagti yesterday by JTC and SKF under the leadership of its president, Shadi Lal Pandita. A large number of the activists of the organization participated in the function. After the function the JTC activists distributed sweets and Prasahd among the people.
National Panthers Party Trade Union (NPPTU): The Republic Day was celebrated by NPPTU, district Udhampur yesterday in a befitting way. A function was held at PHE Station, Barrian Udhampur in this connection in which Balwinder Singh Mankotia, president of NPPTU hoisted the National Flag. The function was also attended by Som Nath, vice president JKNPPTU.
Kotli Colony Welfare Trust (KCWT): A bike and car Tiranga rally was taken out yesterday on the occasion of Republic Day by activists of KCWT to show solidarity among different communities. Hundreds of youth took part in the rally while furling National Flag on their bikes and cars. The National Flag was hoisted by chairman of the organization Chandan Datta at Hotel Sunshine Sidhra on the occasion.
Manda Walkers Welfare Association (MWWA): Flag hoisting ceremony was held yesterday at PHE Reservoir Ground, Manda by MWWA. All the office bearers of the Association participated in the function and later a cleanliness drive was also organised.
Ganga Nagar Welfare Committee (GNWC): On the occasion of Republic Day yesterday an impressive function was organised by GNWA) Bantalab in which president of the Committee Mohan Lal hoisted the National Flag in presence of other members of the organization.
Rajinder Bazar Traders Welfare Association (RBTWA), Jammu: A grand function was organised at Rajinder Bazar, here, yesterday in connection with celebration of the Republic Day by RBTWA in which its chairman Krishan Lal Gupta unfurled the National Flag which was followed by singing of National Anthem.
Welfare Association TRT Buta Nagar: Republic Day was celebrated with great charm and enthusiasm by the inmates of TRT Buta Nagar yesterday. President of the camp, Ashok Dhar in presence of other members hoisted the national Flag on the occasion.
Udhampur Development Council (UDC): A glittering function was organized at Udhampur by UDC on the occasion of Republic Day yesterday in which Anil Paba president of the Council hoisted the National Flag.

Martyr Tushar Mahajan Trust (MTMT) Udhampur: The Republic Day was also celebrated with pomp and show by MTMT Udhampur yesterday in which rich tributes were paid to Capt Tushar Mahajan who had laid down his life for the nation. On the occasion National Flag was hoisted by Dev Raj Gupta.
Gorkhas and Valimkis: The Republic Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm yesterday by the Gorkhas and Valimiki communities who were deprived of all Constitutional and human rights till August 2019.
