JAMMU, Sept 27: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir, held a joint meeting of the Social Media and the Information Technology (IT) departments at party Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, here, today.
Ashok Koul, general secretary (Org.), J&K BJP, accompanied by Priya Sethi, BJP National Executive Member (NEM) and Prabhari Social Media, Ankit Gupta, Social Media in charge and Ishant Gupta, Information Technology in charge, addressed the meeting.
Ashok Koul, while addressing the meeting, focussed on the use of Social Media to reach out to large numbers of people. He termed Social Media and Information Technology as the most important tools in the modern world, where these means act as a two-way connection between the public, party workers and the party’s senior leadership.
“Social Media and Information Technology activists being a powerful gadget today, needs careful planning and absolute time now as the whole nation moves to election mode “, said Ashok Koul.
Koul said that both the Social Media and Information Technology departments play a primary role in shaping opinions through effective use of available organized data and sharing them with the party leaders and the general masses at every possible interval. He prompted them to use the platforms well and educate others to use the same in an effective way.
Priya Sethi told the participants that the number of users of social media is quite large. She stressed on the need to dissipate information regarding the party and its ideology to this segment efficiently through social media.
Ankit Gupta presented a road map drawn to take the party further forward on Social Media. He also cautioned the participants about its drawbacks and asked them to use it with utmost precision and care.
Ishant Gupta said that BJP is turning to technology for holding the events and during present time, Digital Sampark is the first-line medium to contact with base level party activists and common masses.
