Social awareness & medical camp held

JAMMU, Mar 21: Social workers of Ward Number 59 Paloura today organized a one day social awareness and medical camp in collaboration with Criminologists Society of J&K and World Women Awakening Organization, wherein hundreds of people including large number of women and youth participated.
The programme was organized by social activists Parshotam Singh and Sneh Bali, in which Health Minister Bali Bhagat was the chief guest and Vikram Randhawa, MLC, Balbir Singh Manhas, former Chairman J&K Co-operative Housing Corporation and Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, President, Criminologists Society were the special guests and key speakers.
After inaugurating the camp, Bali Bhagat said that organizers and Criminologists Society are laying emphasis on building characters and thereby reducing pressure on law enforcement activities. “I ensure better co-ordination between his department and Criminologists Society to bring more positive results in nation building activities”, he added.
Vikram Randhawa, MLC also assured of his and his party’s help in Gandhi Nagar constituency and said that such initiatives are must for welfare of society.
BS Manhas, senior Advocate urged the youth to stop going towards the path of destruction.
Rameshwar Singh Jamwal, President, Criminologists Society said that his organization has motivated thousands of social, political and religious workers to act as force in raising the moral and ethical benchmarks of youth. He hoped that political and social workers would help the Criminologists Society in organizing more such programmes in their area of influence.
Sneh Bali and Veena Handa from World Women Organization spoke about women issues and called upon Criminologists Society to help in this area as well.
Among others present were Rakeshwar Singh Durswal, Ashwani Kumar, Ashok Singh Manhas, former corporator of the area and many others.
A medical camp was also organized on the occasion wherein medical help was also provided to the needy.
