JAMMU, Oct 10: A deputation of School Officers Association (SOA) (Headmaster cadre) met Director School Education, Samita Sethi under the presidium of Parmjeet Singh and apprised her regarding the grievances confronting the school education officers and submitted the memorandum containing the demands to her.
The demands presented regarding Incharge Officers i.e. Headmasters, Principals ZEOs and equivalent be regularized, officers rendering their services during vacation be treated as non-vocational at par with their counterparts, grade of 9300-34800 with the grade pay 5400 be given to Headmasters at par with +2 Lecturers by removing anomaly, increase in promotion quota of Headmasters from 20% to 50% while promotion as Principal and change of nomenclature from Headmaster be increased to 33% at par with +2 Lecturers.
Other demands presented included officers given posts of DEPOs and deputy CEOs be restored to them, who were promoted from the cadre of Headmasters, and posts of DEPOs and Deputy CEOs be given to them who are promoted from Headmasters cadre and new posts of ZEPOs be sanctioned to fill up the vacant posts.
Others who accompanied the deputationists were S Kulkwant Singh, Roop Lal, Subash Chander, Darshan Lal, Rakesh Chander, Ramesh Chander, H D Sharma, Mohinder Raina and Rafiq Khan.
The Director School Education gave a patient hearing and assured the deputaionists for early redressal of the grievances.
