Srinagar, Feb 27: The Meteorological Department has forecast snowfall in the hills of Kashmir and rains in the Valley due to western disturbance that is approaching the region.
A MeT official said that a fresh western disturbance will be approaching the hills by today evening.
“This weather system is likely to bring in fresh weather activity in terms of rain and snow beginning February 28”, he said.
He said that on February 28, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh are likely to observe light to moderate rain. A few higher reaches might also observe snowfall activities. This weather activity is expected to continue until February 29. He added that the weather will start clearing up by March 1.
